Sky Mesa’s leading earner, General Quarters broke his maiden first time out as a 2-year old going 4-1/2 furlongs, on the dirt at Churchill Downs. Precocious, sound, and versatile he won or placed in 15 of 27 starts being a Graded Stakes winner on dirt, synthetic, and turf. Winning races from 4-1/2 to 9 furlongs, he defeated eight Grade 1 winners, and registered five 100+ Beyer Figures.
According to Pope McLean, “We are thrilled to get General Quarters. He was both a talented and versatile runner. He is an extremely handsome individual, and I know people will be impressed when they see him.”
