Donworth, heavily touted entering this debut with a solid-looking worktab at Palm Meadows on display, came through at 8-5 odds from an 8-1 morning line despite some tense moments. Away a bit sluggishly, the hulking dark bay tugged his way up the rail under Joel Rosario to challenge Sir Alfred (Munnings) down the backside. Forced to check out after things got tight inside of that rival, Donworth was relegated to about fourth along the bend while still traveling powerfully. He sliced through a seam in upper stretch, and ground down Sir Alfred to score by a promising neck. Money Changer (Exchange Rate) completed the two-three finish for trainer Todd Pletcher. The winner’s dam was a $15,000 claim by trainer Brad Cox and KC Garrett Farm in 2008, and checked in second to champion Informed Decision (Monarchos) in the 2009 GI Humana Distaff S. She has a yearling filly by Scat Daddy and a Tiznow weanling colt. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $24,000.

On March 8th, after Barn Burner won his afternoon Stakes, Footprintinthesand, a daughter of TASTE OF PARADISE, was a runaway 7-3/4 lengths winner at Mountaineer Park in the evening. From 5 starters on Sunday, TASTE OF PARADISE had two winners, two second place finishers, and a fourth place finisher.

TWO GAME STAKES PERFORMANCES THIS WEEK FOR PROGENY OF TASTE OF PARADISE
On February 7th, Queenland, an eight year old multiple stakes placed daughter of TASTE OF PARADISE from his first crop to race, made her 2015 stakes debut in the Bucharest Stakes at Sam Houston. She finished a game closing third against an all male field and increased her lifetime earnings to $199,462.
On February 14th, Fast Track, an eight year old graded stakes placed and multiple stakes placed son of TASTE OF PARADISE, also from his first crop to race, finished second in the Turf Paradise Handicap run over 1 1/16 mile on turf. Fast Track holds the all time track record at Turf Paradise for one mile on the turf.

COMFORTER RUNS A GAME 3RD IN $100K MARSHUA STAKES

Comforter, a three year old filly by NOBIZ LIKE SHOBIZ, ran a game 3rd in the $100,000 Marshua Stakes yesterday at Laurel. She broke well, set the fast pace in a speed duel, was passed by the closers at the three sixteenths pole, but gamely fought on for 3rd; only beaten 2-1/2 lengths for the win.
Comforter now has a lifetime record of 6-2-1-2 and earnings of $72,440 for Romar LLC and trainer Scott Lake.
